Nutori Brewing posts business-hours notice for its direct-run shop in Kawaguchi to coincide with a kodan event
On April 15, Nutori Brewing posted a business-hours notice for its directly operated shop in Kawaguchi City. The shop will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. it will host a kodan performance by Yonomaru Kanda, so regular service is divided into before and after the event.
Nutori Brewing shared the day’s business-hours notice for its direct-run base, Beer Shokudo Nutori, in Kawaguchi City. The post said the shop would be open from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and that from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. it would hold the "Tsuki no Akari Kodan Event" by Yonomaru Kanda, so normal service would be split into 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Same-day tickets were also available for the event, making it a day when people coming for beer and people coming for storytelling gathered in the same space.
Nutori Brewing is a small brewery in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture. Its official website says that since February 2021 it has been making a variety of house-brewed beers using small tanks in a 50-year-old apartment building. At its direct-run shop, visitors can enjoy beer alongside "nourishing meals" such as shumai, game meat, and seasonal obanzai dishes.
The shop also houses a private library called Akahana Library, offering the pleasure of spending time there not only through food and drink but also through books. As a shop attached to a brewery within walking distance of the west exit of Kawaguchi Station, it naturally brings together beer, meals, reading, and events in a way that feels distinctly Nutori. This latest notice also reflected the shop’s characteristic style of weaving a kodan event into its everyday service.
