April 23 lineup

Tokyo's Meguro-based Craft Beer & Wine THE DODO HOUSE has announced its tap list for April 23. Located in a residential neighborhood in Shimomeguro, the shop is a beer pub built around Japanese craft beer, while also offering wine and spirits. With 12 counter seats and 14 table seats, it has a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to linger over a few drinks.

On this day, beers are priced from 750 yen for a glass, 1,350 yen for a pint, and 1,500 yen for cans. The lineup is centered on domestic breweries, spanning everything from a light ale to a hoppy IPA and a fuller-bodied can pour.

Today's taps

- Daisen G Beer / Scottish Ale
- Minoh Beer / Saruyama Shikao
- Minami Shinshu Beer / Ogna Cask Red
- Twin Peaks Mountain Brewing / Hakase no Weizen
- Kankiku Brewery / Balmy Pilsner
- Noboru Brewing / Warau
- Isekadoya Beer / Neko Nihiki
- Udon Brewing / Yuzu Oroshi Udon Hazy IPA

Just by style alone, the lineup makes it easy to choose according to your mood, from the calm malt character of a Scottish Ale, to the soft mouthfeel of a Weizen, the crispness of a Pilsner, and the modern hop character of a beer like Neko Nihiki. For anyone who wants to try a full range from lighter pours to richer styles during the seasonal transition, this is an appealing lineup.

THE DODO HOUSE is also a place that aims to introduce good, lesser-known Japanese products. In addition to beer, it offers wine, spirits, and Japanese-Western fusion dishes, making it useful from the first drink through the end of the meal. On the night of April 23, it is a spot worth watching as an easy place to build a Japanese craft beer tasting lineup in Meguro.
