On March 5, Good Hops announced that, as a special collaboration with Spring Valley Brewery, it will release two limited products in April 2026 using the rare hop "Murakami Seven." Murakami Seven is a new variety developed by the company’s head brewer, Atsushi Murakami, during his time at Kirin Brewery, and it is said to be characterized by aromas reminiscent of Japanese citrus, muscat, and fig.

The hop is still not produced in large quantities and has mainly been used at Spring Valley Brewery until now, but this time a special collaboration tied to a renewal has made it possible for Good Hops to use it as well. Good Hops plans to brew two limited beers with Murakami Seven, a LAGER and an IPA, both in limited quantities.

Good Hops is a brewery based in Tono City, Iwate Prefecture. In a land where hop cultivation has continued for more than 60 years, the company handles not only brewing beer but also hop breeding, cultivation, processing, and research in an integrated manner. The slogan "BREW & GROW" in its logo expresses its commitment to nurturing beer and hops together.

In this collaboration, limited products using lupulin powder processed by Good Hops will also appear at Spring Valley Brewery Tokyo and Kyoto. In addition, on April 16, SVB Tokyo will hold its 11th anniversary event, "Megumi JAPAN ~TOHOKU Spirit x 11 (Good) Anniversary Meat Festival~," where a talk session featuring Murakami and other related guests is also planned. This project, which connects hop development, processing, and brewing, is attracting attention as a sign of the current state of craft beer emerging from Tono.
