Onomichi Brewery Starts Serving Its 3% Onomichi Lemon Radler
On July 30, Onomichi Brewery began serving its Onomichi Lemon Radler, a low-alcohol drink made with plenty of local Onomichi lemons. The brewery also started online sales, describing it as a refreshing, easy-drinking option for hot weather.
A lemon-forward radler for hot days
Onomichi Brewery, based in Onomichi, Hiroshima, announced on July 30 that it had put its seasonal "Onomichi Lemon Radler" on tap. The beer has an alcohol content of 3% and is made with plenty of lemons from Onomichi, giving it a bright sweet-and-sour profile.
A radler is a beer style made by mixing beer with lemonade. That makes it naturally lighter and easier to drink than many standard beers. In the brewery's own description, the Onomichi Lemon Radler is recommended for people who find beer bitterness difficult, which should make it appealing beyond the usual beer crowd.
Sales are not limited to the taproom. The product is also available through the brewery's online shop, and Onomichi Brewery has prepared both 3-bottle and 6-bottle sets for customers who asked for a radler-focused lineup. That makes it easy to try one bottle first or stock up for a small summer gathering.
The brewery is operated by Onomichi Beer Co., Ltd., founded in 2020 and located in Kubo, Onomichi City. As a local brewery, it has continued to work with ingredients and themes tied to the city, and this latest release fits that direction well: a regional ingredient, a low-alcohol profile, and a style that suits the season.
