On March 6, 2026, Inkhorn Brewing announced its new beer "Osprey" on Instagram. The published specs are as follows.

- Name: Osprey
- Style: West Coast Triple IPA
- ABV: 10.5%

According to the post, the recipe uses only base malt and employs a double mash to reach 10.5% without adding sugar. A large amount of bright-colored pale malt from the UK forms the base, with a design layered with a resinous hop character, citrus reminiscent of amanatsu, and notes of berries and melon.

The hops used are Mosaic Cryo, Citra LUPOMAX, Simcoe Dynaboost, Mosaic, Idaho 7 LUPOMAX, and Nectaron. By heavily using concentrated hops such as Cryo and LUPOMAX, the beer is said to have a defining trait in the way its fruitiness rises as the temperature increases. The yeast is WLP001, and the malt is Extra Pale Ale Malt.

In the brewer's comments, the beer was described as balanced so that its character comes through even in a tulip glass, not just in the pint-style glass typically assumed for this kind of beer. It is also interesting that while it gives a sweet impression, it is not overly residual-sugar-heavy, and the calculated bitterness is still firmly in place. This can be seen as a beer that presents the relatively uncommon West Coast Triple IPA in Japan with Inkhorn's own precision.

Inkhorn Brewing operates a brewery and tasting room in Mejiro, Tokyo. For drinkers who want to experience both the classic appeal of a high-ABV IPA and the expression of modern hop ingredients, this looks like a release not to miss.
