Nutori Brewing Starts Serving Its New Draft Beer "Kumejima Gettou," Made with Kumejima Shell Ginger from Okinawa
Saitama's Nutori Brewing has started serving the draft version of its new collaboration beer, "Kumejima Gettou," brewed with Brewery Tumugi in Kumejima, Okinawa. It is a Belgian white made with gettou, and the can release is planned for a later date.
Saitama Prefecture's Kawaguchi-based Nutori Brewing has started serving the draft version of its new beer, "Kumejima Gettou," a collaboration with Brewery Tumugi in Kumejima, Okinawa. In its post, the brewery said this collaboration beer was brewed in February with Yoko, the "over-fermentation girl" from Tumugi.
The style is a Belgian white. Using the Okinawan herb "gettou," it is described as offering a sweet, exotic aroma. The can release is listed as "please wait a little longer," so for now it can be enjoyed as draft inside the taproom first. It is a beer that clearly reflects Nutori Brewing's approach of bringing out the character of its ingredients.
Nutori Brewing is a brewery with an attached shop within walking distance of Kawaguchi Station's west exit, and it has been serving its own brewed beer since February 2021. In addition to house-made beer, the shop is known for its "nourishing meals," including shumai, game meat, and seasonal obanzai side dishes. The appeal of the place lies not just in the beer, but in the time designed to be enjoyed together with food.
In this post, the brewery also announced its operating schedule for the Golden Week holiday period. It will be open on the 28th, which would normally be a Tuesday closing day, and also plans to be open on the 29th, 30th, May 2, and from May 3 through May 6. For anyone hoping to chase this collaboration release in Kawaguchi, it looks best to check the business days before visiting.
