Better life with upcycle is selling a new beer, Oriental Citrus Ale, on its official website. The beer is built on a German Kölsch-style base, has an ABV of 5.0%, comes in a 350 ml can, and is priced at JPY 572 including tax.

The flavor profile centers on a light body and bright citrus character. Aromas from Shonan Gold and Kölsch yeast bring out citrus and apple-like notes, while green Sichuan pepper adds a fresh, lively spice that carries through the finish. With an IBU of 19 and an SRM of 3, the beer is designed to feel clear, light, and easy to drink.

The Shonan Gold used in the beer comes from off-spec fruit produced in Odawara by the Senior Network Odawara & Ashigara group. The ingredients also include bread made from wheat, which reflects the brewery's upcycling approach.

Better life with upcycle is based in Ebina, Kanagawa. Backed by a bakery founded in 1923, the brand has built its identity around giving new value to overlooked ingredients and connecting baking and brewing through a sustainable lens. This release fits that direction well, offering a seasonal beer that matches the humid months ahead with a clean, refreshing finish.
