Better life with upcycle, a brewery based in Ebina, Kanagawa, has announced that its upcycled beer will be featured on TV Tokyo’s “Tokoro-san’s Sokontokoro,” a program known for exploring surprising knowledge and stories from everyday life.

The segment is scheduled to air on November 6 at 7:30 p.m. The brewery noted that some previous communications had listed an 8 p.m. start time, but the correct broadcast time is 7:30 p.m. The broadcast date may change depending on circumstances.

Better life with upcycle brews craft beer using bread crusts that might otherwise be discarded. The brewery was founded around the challenge of food waste and continues to pursue thoughtful production that makes the most of its ingredients. Turning a familiar bakery byproduct into beer is a natural expression of the brewery’s upcycling-focused approach.

To coincide with the broadcast, the brewery plans to offer special-value sets through its official online shop from 8 p.m. on November 6. The promotion is scheduled to run through November 19.

A broadcast-related campaign will also begin on November 6 at the brewery’s directly operated taproom, Third Grain, in Bashamichi, Yokohama. Customers who order food and tell staff, “I saw you on TV,” will receive a special service.

Third Grain is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays and public holidays. Located in Naka Ward, Yokohama, the taproom is within walking distance of Kannai and Bashamichi stations. The broadcast offers beer fans another opportunity to discover how bread crusts can become a distinctive craft beer.
