Minoh Beer’s Flagship “Stout” Wins Silver at IBA 2026
Minoh Beer of Minoh City, Osaka, announced that its flagship "Stout" won a silver medal at the International Brewing Awards 2026 held in the United Kingdom. Recognition from one of the world’s oldest international judging competitions once again highlighted the quality of the brewery’s dark beer.
Minoh Beer, based in Minoh City, Osaka, has added another international accolade for its flagship label, "Stout." According to the official announcement, the company reported on March 9 that its stout received a Silver Medal at the International Brewing Awards 2026, held in the United Kingdom.
Minoh Beer is a local brewery born in Minoh. On its official website, the company says it brews yeast-alive beer using carefully selected malt and hops, without heat treatment or filtration, in an environment surrounded by Meiji no Mori Minoh Quasi-National Park. From regular offerings to seasonal limited releases, it has also been rolling out a new series called "Baton Beer" since 2022, continuing its community-rooted brewing.
The award-winning "Stout" is characterized by the aroma of roasted malt reminiscent of coffee and bitter chocolate, along with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. On the product page, it is introduced as a "black beer you never get tired of drinking," and pairings with sweets as well as meat dishes are recommended. This silver medal at the IBA shows that this flavor craftsmanship has been recognized overseas as well.
Minoh Beer has already earned numerous awards in competitions around the world. Stout has also been recognized in international contests in the past, and this latest silver medal further confirms its strength. For the brewery, which has aimed to create an easy-to-enjoy everyday beer while valuing local ingredients and seasonal character, this award is likely to mark an important milestone.
