A refreshing seasonal beer suited to early summer

Minoh Beer has released its spring-summer limited "Kozaru IPA." It is a staple seasonal brewed every early summer and positioned as the little brother of "Osaru IPA." This release is once again crafted as a session IPA that lets you fully enjoy the citrus aroma of American hops, with specs listed as Alc. 4.5%, IBU 32, light body, and unfiltered.

The hops used are six varieties: Columbus, Simcoe, Centennial, Cascade, Citra, and Amarillo. The official description presents it as an "IPA you can gulp down," with an emphasis on aroma balance and a crisp finish. The hop combination creates a profile where not only citrus, but also tropical and floral impressions are likely to overlap.

The label design features a motif of a "tiny monkey," making the connection to the series name easy to understand. Rather than a flashy limited-edition brew, it can be seen as a beer that proposes seasonal drinkability within the brand’s context.

A seasonal release that feels distinctly Minoh Beer

Minoh Beer is a brewery that has been brewing in Minoh City, Osaka since 1997, and it has long valued non-heat-treated, unfiltered beer. In a natural environment close to Minoh Quasi-National Park, it offers a wide lineup ranging from core beers to seasonal limited releases.

This "Kozaru IPA" also reflects that emphasis on seasonality. It will be sold in 330 ml bottles and on draft, with rollout to restaurants and liquor retailers beginning around May 7, and sales on the official online shop starting at 5:00 p.m. on May 15. For anyone looking for an IPA with a strong aroma and a light, easy-drinking profile heading into early summer, this looks like a beer worth watching.
