Nutori Brewing to host Hinomaru Kanda kōdan event on August 26
Nutori Brewing will host a kōdan storytelling event with Hinomaru Kanda at its direct-run pub, Beer Shokudo Nutori, in Kawaguchi on August 26 at 7:00 p.m. The evening will also feature the last keg of the collaboration beer "Bakushu Yako: Hyakki no Kuro," and the venue will keep regular service hours around the event.
Nutori Brewing, based in Kawaguchi, Saitama, announced an in-house kōdan storytelling event featuring Hinomaru Kanda. In the Instagram post, the brewery described the gathering as a same-day event, with the show scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, at its direct-run venue, Beer Shokudo Nutori.
Nutori Brewing operates from a renovated 50-year-old apartment building and has been making house beer since February 2021. At the attached pub, guests can pair beer with its signature "jiyō meshi" food lineup, including shumai, game dishes, and seasonal side dishes.
The event will also spotlight the collaboration beer "Bakushu Yako: Hyakki no Kuro," a coffee porter created with Kanda. According to the post, this was the tour’s reveal beer, and the brewery has kept the last keg for this occasion. Reservations are accepted at the venue, and same-day tickets are available as well.
Because regular service will continue before and after the kōdan performance, visitors can drop in for a drink around the show. For beer fans, it is a straightforward combination of live storytelling, a special release, and the kind of food-and-beer setting Nutori has built in Kawaguchi.
