Naginone Brewing Announces a Busy August of Event Appearances
Naginone Brewing in Kushima, Miyazaki, says it will keep appearing at events throughout August. The small brewery operates on the site of a former nursery school and brings its place-driven beers directly to drinkers.
Naginone Brewing is a small brewery based in Kushima, Miyazaki, on the former site of the Yamabiko nursery school. Its online store says the beers are made by a former shochu master who handles everything from brewing to bottling, and that the brewery’s flagship `Yamabiko Ale` uses lemongrass grown in Kushima. With bottle conditioning and slow maturation, the beer is designed to evolve over time and reflect the place where it is made.
In the latest Instagram post, the brewery said that event appearances will continue through August. For a small brewery, events are a valuable way to show what the beer tastes like in the glass, not just on paper. Aroma, texture, temperature, and how a beer changes as you drink it are much easier to communicate face to face than through a product listing.
Taking beer brewed in Kushima out to event venues is a very local kind of challenge, and one that fits Naginone Brewing’s approach. The old nursery-school setting, the use of local ingredients, and the visibility of the brewer all add context to the beer. August’s event schedule should give more drinkers a chance to encounter that story firsthand.
