Hansharo Beer Brewing, the craft brewery in Izu-Nirayama, Shizuoka, has introduced a limited release called NANGOKU HAZY. The announcement was published on July 6, 2026, positioning the beer as a seasonal Hazy IPA for the hotter months ahead.

According to the brewery, the beer is designed to deliver plenty of tropical and fruity aroma and flavor. To achieve a smoother mouthfeel and a more substantial body, it includes maltodextrin, a non-fermentable sugar. That choice adds an extra layer of softness to the juicy character typically associated with the Hazy style.

The hop bill features New Zealand varieties such as Nelson Sauvin and Nectaron. Those hops are known for bringing tropical notes and a dank edge, resulting in a Hazy IPA that leans into aroma, texture, and a rounded drinking impression rather than sharp bitterness. The brewery describes it as a relaxed, resort-like beer that fits the summer season well.

Hansharo Beer Brewing is closely tied to the local history of Izu-Nirayama. The brewery’s official site notes that the Nirayama reverberatory furnace in the area was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2015, and that the craft brewery was founded by Kuraya Narusawa in 1997. That regional background gives this limited beer release a clear sense of place. For drinkers who enjoy soft, juicy Hazy IPAs with expressive hop character, NANGOKU HAZY is a notable summer release.
