Hansharo Beer Brewing has introduced a new limited beer, Tropical Hop Weiss. In its August 24 news update, the brewery describes the beer as a Weizen built on the style's familiar banana-like fruitiness and soft wheat-malt texture, then lifted with the bright aroma of New Zealand hops.

The beer uses Nectaron and Riwaka Cryo, hop varieties known for concentrated aromatic character. According to the brewery, they bring a tropical, punchy aroma while keeping the finish crisp. The result is meant to stay fruity and smooth, but with a cleaner aftertaste that keeps the beer refreshing.

Hansharo Beer Brewing is based in Nirayama, Izu-no-kuni City, Shizuoka, and was founded in 1997 by Kuraya Narusawa. The brewery presents itself as a local craft beer maker rooted in the Izu area, and this limited release fits that identity by pairing a classic German-style wheat beer with modern hop aromatics.

Tropical Hop Weiss appears to be a beer aimed at drinkers who enjoy aroma-forward white beers: approachable in texture, but with a clearly expressed hop profile. It is a straightforward example of how a traditional Weizen can be updated without losing its soft, wheat-driven core.
