The Grafton Beer Pub & Restaurant Offers 13 Draft Beers, Including Guinness and Uchu IPA
On May 21, The Grafton Beer Pub & Restaurant in Tokyo's Gotanda area unveiled its lineup of draft craft beer and cider. In addition to Guinness and Hoegaarden, it also features labels from domestic breweries such as St. Gallen and Uchu Brewing, while the food menu is packed with pies and hearty stew dishes.
Located on the basement first floor near Gotanda Station in Tokyo, The Grafton Beer Pub & Restaurant revealed its tap list on May 21. In the calm atmosphere of an Irish pub, it offers a broad selection of draft craft beer and cider.
The lineup for the day features 13 items in total. Alongside staples like Guinness, Heineken, Hoegaarden, and Magners Cider, there is a solid showing from domestic breweries. The selection includes St. Gallen's "YOKOHAMA XPA Real Ale," Ikari Brewery's "Irish Red" and "Scottish Brown Real Ale," COEDO Brewery's "Mugi Hana," Black Sheep's "BEST BITTER," Numazu Craft's "Merseyside ESB," Uchu Brewing's "KONBINI IPA," U.B.P Brewery's "Kickoff Pils," and Farm & Cidery Kaneshige's "RICKEY," giving the list a remarkably wide stylistic range.
In particular, when real ale, ESB, brown ale, IPA, and pilsner are all available at once, the pleasure of comparing different beers really stands out. From British and Irish flavors like Guinness and Black Sheep to the hop-forward IPA from Uchu Brewing and a crisp pils, the lineup makes it easy to choose according to your mood.
The food menu is also notable for how closely it is tailored to beer. Items on offer included the reportedly nearly sold-out "Lamb Guinness Stew Pie," as well as pasties, black pudding, house-made chicken jerky, spiced grilled pork tongue cartilage, bonito tataki salad, cod roe cream spaghettoni, and a special taco rice. From warm pie dishes to lighter plates, the menu makes it easy to match the personality of each draft beer.
The restaurant is also accepting reservations for farewell and welcome parties, other banquets, and private parties. If you're looking to enjoy the atmosphere of a British-style pub and a diverse tap list all in one place in Gotanda, this is one spot worth checking out.
