Naginone Brewing in Kushima, Miyazaki, has announced the label design for NAGINONE MIYAZAKI SAISON, a Miyazaki-prefecture-only release scheduled for June. The design reimagines Miyazaki’s sun as a lion motif, framing the region’s intense sunlight not as something harsh, but as a force that supports crops and local life. Little Park in Miyazaki City supported the design work, helping give the beer a clear regional identity.

The brewery itself is a notable local story. Naginone Brewing was founded in March 2025 and became Kushima City’s first craft beer brewery. It operates from the former Yamabiko preschool site, using the existing building to produce small-batch beer with bottle conditioning. On its official account, the brewery describes itself as a small, mountain-side brewery that brews while staying close to the seasons.

What stands out here is that the brewery is not only selling flavor, but also place. The beer is being presented as part of the everyday rhythm of southern Miyazaki, where the idea of a relaxing drink at the end of the day fits naturally into local culture. In that sense, the design language of NAGINONE MIYAZAKI SAISON feels as important as the beer itself.

For craft beer fans, this is an example of how a label can carry more than branding: it can carry a landscape, a community, and a brewing philosophy. As a Miyazaki-exclusive saison from a small brewery in Kushima, it adds another distinct voice to the region’s growing craft beer scene.
