From Natural Roots Studio in Mishima, Shizuoka Prefecture, comes the Czech-style dark lager "AGEAGESAMEAGE." According to an Instagram post, it was brewed on March 9, 2026, and since representative Hata was born in 1991, it was created by a group of industry peers who are the same age.

At the heart of the beer’s flavor is a unique process: they acquired a wooden vat that had been used to make salted cherry leaves, dismantled it, smoked it, and then added it to the beer. By layering in the smoky aroma of burned wood, the beer gains depth that goes beyond a simple dark lager. The style is described as a Czech-style dark lager, suggesting a design that combines toastiness, roast character, and wood-derived nuances.

The release will go to trade accounts on April 15, and to the company’s own e-commerce site from 6:00 p.m. on April 19. In addition, pre-release tapping is scheduled to begin on April 6 at CBM Tokyo Torch, followed by BEERNOVA URAWA on April 7, Fruktos Sakaba on April 10, and multiple venues in Tokyo and Kyoto on April 11. Natural Roots Studio, as Repubrew’s second factory, is a production base that uses solar power and natural water from the Fuji-Hakone system to produce beer and distilled spirits. This beer from Mishima also reflects that background in its finish.
