Marumugi Taps Five Beers Including Minoh’s Peach Weizen
Beer pub Jimbeer Bar Marumugi in Arakicho, Tokyo, has announced a five-beer lineup featuring a peach-infused Weizen, an American-style IPA, a lemongrass-scented lager, a maple amber ale, and a light hoppy blonde ale.
Jimbeer Bar Marumugi in Arakicho, Shinjuku, Tokyo, has announced its craft beer lineup for October 5. The selection includes five beers from breweries across Japan. Prices are 1,300 yen for a large serving and 1,000 yen for a small serving.
The standout is Minoh Beer’s Kokusan Momo Weizen Shimizu Hakuho Ver. at 5.0% ABV. Made with Japanese Shimizu Hakuho peaches, this Fruit Weizen combines the fruity character of a Weizen with fresh peach notes. The beer is presented as dry, crisp, and light rather than sweet.
For hop-focused drinkers, Shonan Beer’s IPA American Style comes in at 6.0% ABV and puts American hops at the center. Repubrew’s NO LEMON LAGER is 5.6% ABV, with lemongrass aromas that evoke a spiced tea.
The remaining taps offer two contrasting options. Romanticmura Craft Brewery’s Maple Amber Ale is a 6.0% ABV amber ale described as sweet, toasted, and rich. Shiga Kogen Beer’s Baby Blonde Miyama is a 5.0% ABV blonde ale with a light body and a clear hop presence.
With beers from a range of Japanese breweries, Marumugi is a relaxed place to compare different styles in Arakicho. The pub is closed on Tuesdays and public holidays, so visitors should check the latest tap availability before stopping by.
