Details of the event, announced on Good Hops' official Instagram with the message, "This weekend, Saturday 3/14, it's GOOD HOPS NIGHT in Nihonbashi-Ningyocho!", have also been posted on the official website. The venue is NUMBER6 in Nihonbashi-Ningyocho. On the day, the event will take the form of a tap takeover, making it a full day to dive deep into Good Hops' beers.

The highlight is a limited IPA available "only on this day"

The planned lineup includes nine beers on tap and six in cans. The standout is the ultra-limited beer "PROTO HOPS #4", brewed as a single keg. It is an IPA (ABV 6.0%) made with an unnamed new hop variety, Hop #4, harvested in summer 2025, along with Tono-grown Saaz. Early tastings reportedly brought out notes reminiscent of peach and lychee, and the real test will be how those aromas come through in the glass on the day.

Not just beer, but the broader context of Tono

At the venue, Good Hops representative Junichi Tamura and NUMBER6's Ace will hold a Japanese-grown hop seminar (scheduled to start at 16:30 and 20:00). After each session, a rock-paper-scissors tournament is also planned, with prizes including parkas and glassware. In addition, dishes made with Tono-produced ingredients such as game meat and wasabi, along with a pop-up project, will be offered, creating a setup where visitors can experience both the beer and the local culture in a more three-dimensional way.

Based in Tono, Iwate, Good Hops integrates cultivation, research, and brewing. This one-night event looks like a can’t-miss opportunity to bring the potential of Japanese-grown hops directly to urban drinkers. The representative is scheduled to be on site in the early evening (around 16:00 to 17:00), so if you want to meet them in person, arriving early would be the best move.
