Beer Pub Yumeyomi, a second-floor beer bar in Kyoto's Gion area, lined up five taps for its July 25 (Sat.) service, open from 16:00 to 23:00. The pub is known for its welcoming, low-key style: solo guests are welcome, and large groups are discouraged.

Draft list for July 25

- Tsugaru Jozo / Tsugaru no Megumi: A fruity, spicy weizen brewed with local wheat.
- karuizawa Q / Minawa: A juicy IPA with a slightly sweet and dank profile.
- YOROCCO / All You Need is Flower: A farmhouse ale made with naturally grown chamomile from Kamakura, with a crisp, refreshing character.
- Hida Takayama Beer / Tadaratu: Brewed for the first time in two years; copper-red in appearance, but smooth and easy to drink.
- YEBISU / Sapporo Beer: A dependable classic on the list.

The food side includes fried sardines with a touch of plum paste, which should work well as a light snack between pours. The result is a quiet Gion service where drinkers can move from classics to more characterful beers at an easy pace.

August 8-9 art program

For Aug. 8 and 9, the bar plans a visiting program with Wan from Joya-to Living, a gallery and shop in Minami-Gyoko, Chiba. The event is set to include an exhibition and sales, along with Sapporo Nama Beer Kuro Label and beer from Locobia in Sakura, Chiba. It should be a two-day program where beer and art sit side by side, with more playful ideas such as a simple beer-and-you sketch session also under consideration.

Beer Pub Yumeyomi is located on the second floor of the Shimaya Building in Kyoto's Higashiyama Ward, and it is a place worth dropping into when you want to slow down and choose a beer carefully.
