Numazu Craft’s Lava Porter Now on Tap at Beer Yumeyomi in Kyoto
Beer Yumeyomi, a craft beer pub in Kyoto’s Higashiyama district, is now serving Numazu Craft’s Lava Porter on draft. The porter combines roasted malt aroma, gentle sweetness, coffee-like bitterness, and a full-bodied finish.
Beer Yumeyomi, a craft beer pub in Kyoto’s Higashiyama district, has tapped Lava Porter from Numazu Craft, a brewery brand produced by Kakitagawa Brewing in Numazu, Shizuoka.
Numazu Craft works under the concept “SLOW BEER SLOW LIFE,” focusing on clean, balanced beers that can be enjoyed at an unhurried pace. Its lineup includes classic beer styles as well as seasonal releases, with an emphasis on drinkability and malt character.
Lava Porter is a dark porter made with richly colored malts. It is listed at 6.0% ABV and 35 IBU, offering roasted malt aromas, a coffee-like bitterness, subtle sweetness, and a deep, satisfying body. Chocolate malt contributes additional depth, while the restrained bitterness keeps the beer approachable for a slow evening pour.
The beer’s name is said to evoke solidified lava and lava formations. Its dark appearance, roast-driven aroma, and full malt profile make it a natural choice for drinkers looking for a more contemplative beer rather than a bright, highly hopped pint.
Beer Yumeyomi is located on the second floor of the Shimaya Building on Shijo-dori in Kyoto’s Higashiyama area. The pub’s guest beer rotation offers an opportunity to encounter breweries from across Japan in a relaxed setting. Availability, serving size, and pricing should be confirmed with the pub before visiting.
