Autumn beer and croquettes in Gion
Beer Yumeyomi, located on the second floor of a building on Shijo-dori in Kyoto’s Higashiyama Ward, will be open from 5:15 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21. According to the pub’s post, the draft lineup remains unchanged, with Sapporo Ebisu served from meticulously cleaned taps.
The other featured beer is a Weizenbock from Shonan, which has been well received by guests who enjoy German-style beer. Its wheat-beer character and fuller bock-like body should make it an appealing alternative to the rich, familiar profile of Ebisu.
The food special is croquettes. Alongside the previously popular potato version, the pub will offer a new combination of sweet potato and bacon. The sweetness of the potato, the savory bacon, and the crisp fried coating should work naturally with both Ebisu and the stronger Weizenbock.
The post also previews future experiments with major domestic beers, including Sapporo Nama, Asahi Super Dry, Sapporo Mugi to Hop, Suntory Kin-Mugi, and Asahi Clear Asahi. Sapporo Kohaku Ebisu is planned for December, while Kirin Lager is scheduled for January or February.
Beer Yumeyomi welcomes solo visitors and does not accept large groups or reservations. For beer lovers exploring Gion, this is a low-key stop for carefully poured beer and a seasonal croquette pairing.
