Release notes

Gangi Brewing, based in Joetsu City, Niigata, has released its first Italian Pilsner, HOMEY PILS. The beer comes in at 5.0% ABV and is dry-hopped with German noble hops. The brewery describes it as having herbal and floral aromatics, with subtle hints of berry and lemon, followed by a light, clean, crisp finish.

Founded in August 2023, Gangi Brewing is located about a 10-minute walk from Joetsu-Myoko Station. The brewery has positioned itself around the idea of bold taste, easy sip: beers with clear character, but built to be enjoyed cup after cup. HOMEY PILS fits that direction well, pairing pilsner drinkability with a more expressive hop profile.

Italian Pilsner is a style that keeps the refreshing structure of pilsner while adding a more aromatic hop presence. It is not as aggressive as an IPA, yet it offers more character than a standard lager. For drinkers looking for something refreshing without losing flavor, HOMEY PILS looks like a natural fit in Gangi Brewing’s lineup.
