A wide-ranging tap list in Kokubunji

BEER CAFE GAMBRINUS is a craft beer-focused pub on the sixth floor of the 46th Tokyo Building near Kokubunji Station. On September 29, the shop is open for regular service from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The day’s featured new pour is ESB from Ise Kadoya Beer. With its malt-forward character and measured bitterness, it offers a classic counterpoint to the many hop-driven beers on the list.

IPA options include Moonlight IPA from Oguna, Swan Lake IPA from Swan Lake Beer, Keyaki Anthem [Hazy IPA] from U.B.P Brewery, Umiyuri [Hazy IPA] from Blue Classic, and Cooling Break [Cold IPA] from Kakegawa Farm.

The lineup also includes Rock Dry-Hopped Weizen from Touchdown, Grapefruit Ale from Harvest Moon, Azarashi Pilsner Okawari from Mitaka Yamaneko Brewing, Northwest Pale Ale and Imperial Stout from Craft Beer Base, Lighthouse [Micro Porter] from Nara Brewing, and Pilsner Urquell from the Czech Republic. The range moves from crisp lagers and pale ales to dark, robust beers, making the pub well suited to a relaxed tasting flight.

Two more beers are listed as coming soon: Prismer [West Coast IPA] from Gangi Brewing and Bagman IPA [Hazy IPA] from Craft Bank.

GAMBRINUS is also planning its annual barbecue at Koganei Park on October 12, adding a social dimension to the shop’s beer-focused atmosphere. Tap availability and business hours may change, so checking with the pub before visiting is recommended.
