Pecora Beer, based in Asao Ward, Kawasaki, Kanagawa, has received two awards at the International Beer Cup 2026.
Both medals came in the Keg division:
- Ines: Fruited American-Style Sour Ale/Silver
- Black Sheep: Coffee Beer/Bronze
The two beers represent distinctly different directions. Ines focuses on fruit character and refreshing acidity, while Black Sheep highlights the roasted and aromatic qualities of coffee. Their recognition reflects Pecora Beer’s broad approach to brewing across a range of styles.
Pecora Beer is a small brewery whose representative brewer also holds a beer-judging qualification. Inspired by the craft beer culture he experienced in Los Angeles, the brewery mainly produces American-style beers, including West Coast IPA. Its beers are designed to be clean and restrained in bitterness while retaining the bold character of each style.
The brewery began brewing in July 2024 and has since built a record of recognition at competitions including the Japan Great Beer Awards. The two award-winning beers are currently being served at Pecora Beer Kitchen, the taproom attached to the brewery. With up to nine house beers available, the venue offers an opportunity to compare Ines and Black Sheep alongside Pecora Beer’s wider lineup.
