Encouraging bottle shop use for April only

At Taproom Ofuna, operated by Yorocco Beer Iwase Brewery in Kamakura, Kanagawa, a campaign will be held from April 2 to April 30. Eligible customers are those who buy six or more cans or bottles through the bottle shop function, or those who purchase 4,000 yen or more worth of beer to take home. Anyone who meets the conditions will receive an original cooler bag as a gift.

The background to this initiative is Taproom Ofuna's idea of making craft beer easier and more casual to enjoy. In addition to drinking on-site, the venue has a bottle shop, making it possible to enjoy beer in a variety of settings such as at home or outdoors. By carrying not only its own beers but also a wide selection of beers, the shop also seems intent on increasing opportunities for people to encounter craft beer as part of their everyday shopping.

The cooler bag in this campaign is sized to hold six cans of beer, and is easy to use for picnics, shopping, or packing lunch. It can be used up to twice per person during the campaign period, although that limit does not apply to purchases made as gifts or souvenirs. Cooler bags will also continue to be sold on their own.

Yorocco Beer is a brewery based in Kamakura that has continued making beers with distinct character. Combined with its locally rooted business style, this kind of bottle-shop-focused promotion seems likely to connect naturally with both at-home drinking and takeout demand. Please note that Wednesdays are regular closing days.
