Inkhorn Brewing, based in Mejiro, Toshima Ward in Tokyo, introduced its new Hazy IPA, Kingfisher 2026, on Instagram. The brewery describes it as a Citra- and Mosaic-led beer with grapefruit and pineapple-like hop character, firm bitterness, and a dry finish.
Kingfisher 2026
On August 31, Inkhorn Brewing introduced its new beer, Kingfisher 2026, on Instagram. It is a Hazy IPA with 6.0% ABV. The recipe is built around Citra and Mosaic, with malt from Extra Pils, Oats, Wheat, and Carapils. The hop bill includes Citra, Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo, Citra LUPOMAX, and Citra Incognito, and the house yeast is listed as Inkhorn House Yeast.
According to the brewery, the beer combines hop-driven notes of grapefruit and pineapple with a slightly dank character, tied together by a solid bitterness. Although it looks like a classic hazy, it finishes drier than expected. As the beer settles on the palate, the softness from oats comes through and extends the hop-driven aftertaste.
Kingfisher 2026 continues a line of Hazy IPAs designed to be light enough for Japan's summer and easy to drink as a first beer of the day. Inkhorn Brewing is based in Mejiro, Toshima Ward, Tokyo, and its official site also lists its tasting room information. This release returns after more than a year, making it a relatively rare offering in the brewery's Hazy lineup.
