An Instagram post from Nomcraft Brewing revealed that Repubrew × Nomcraft had carried out their first collaborative brew. The beer they brewed was a Weizen, and the two breweries combined their ideas into a single recipe.

According to the post, Repubrew envisioned a classic Weizen like Nomcraft Weizen, while Nomcraft proposed a tropical Weizen. By combining each brewery's brewing knowledge, they aimed for a finished beer with banana character from the yeast, plus pineapple and coconut nuances from the hops.

Nomcraft Brewing is a brewery based in Aridagawa Town, Arida District, Wakayama Prefecture. Operating out of a facility renovated from an old daycare center, the brewery has pursued community development through craft beer, offering a wide range from hop-forward American styles to classic styles. That flexible mindset is also reflected directly in this collaboration.

Repubrew, meanwhile, is a brewery in Numazu, Shizuoka Prefecture, sending out a diverse lineup of beers as a brewpub in the middle of the city. The highlight of this release is that two breweries working in different regions reinterpreted the same Weizen through their own perspectives.

The post also says that the Weizen series will continue, suggesting this brew may not be a one-off. No details on the finished version or release information have been announced yet, but this is a collaboration worth watching to see how the strengths of both breweries come together in one glass.
