Based in Omi-Hachiman, Shiga, TWO RABBITS BREWING COMPANY is presenting Golden Mango Lassi, a smoothie sour ale available in 360 ml cans and 6-pack sets priced at JPY 770 and JPY 4,620 respectively.

According to the product page, this release is a renewed version of a beer that was well received last year. It is described as showing a vivid yellow color reminiscent of ripe mangoes, with a sweet tropical aroma, a creamy and smooth mouthfeel, juicy acidity, and a balanced level of sweetness backed by lively carbonation. The finish is said to linger with mango purée, creating the impression of a mango lassi translated directly into beer form.

The specs list 5.0% ABV and 0 IBU. Ingredients include mango purée, lactose, Nectaron hops, and Lallemand Philly Sour yeast. Rather than leaning on hop bitterness, the recipe appears designed around fruit intensity, acidity, and a rich texture that fits the smoothie sour style.

The brewery also gives a strong keep refrigerated warning. Because the beer uses a large amount of mango purée, storing it at room temperature could trigger refermentation and cause the can to swell or even rupture. A special “refrigerate” sticker has also been applied to the cap to reinforce the warning.

Two Rabbits Brewing has built a reputation in Shiga for seasonal beers and fruit-forward sour releases. This one stands out as a summer-leaning limited beer with a clear mango profile and careful handling requirements.
