TWO RABBITS BREWING COMPANY of Omihachiman, Shiga, is offering WANYUDO AMERICAN IPA, the final release in its 18-beer Yokai series. Brewed with three new U.S. hop varieties, the beer combines expressive citrus and tropical fruit aromas with the firm, clean bitterness associated with American IPA.
The final beer in the Yokai series
WANYUDO AMERICAN IPA is the concluding release in Two Rabbits Brewing Company’s 18-beer Yokai series. Inspired by the Japanese yokai Wanyudo, the American IPA pours a deep amber color and is designed to deliver a substantial drinking experience.
The brewery uses three new American hop varieties—Tangier, Vera, and McKenzie. Together, they create a bright, fruit-forward profile reminiscent of tangerine and tropical fruit. Beneath the expressive aroma is the assertive, clean bitterness expected from the American IPA style, giving the beer a weighty and well-defined finish.
The beer’s deep amber appearance and pronounced bitterness add structure to the aromatic hop character. Its progression from lively fruit notes to a firm bitter finish should appeal to IPA drinkers as well as beer fans interested in the character of newer hop varieties.
The beer is sold by TWO RABBITS BREWING COMPANY, based in Omihachiman, Shiga. Prices range from ¥770 to ¥4,620, with two variants available. As the finale to a series that has explored the appeal of different beer styles and hop expressions through yokai-inspired names, WANYUDO AMERICAN IPA offers a fitting opportunity to look back on the project while enjoying its final chapter.
