Limited Beer ALC

Hansharo Beer Brewing, based in Izunokuni, Shizuoka, has announced its limited beer ALC. The release is a collaboration with Takashi Kurihara, a stylist at PEEK-A-BOO, and Shogo Kurihara, a bartender at BAR HAPPY END. The project brought together professionals from different fields and turned their shared sensibilities into a single beer.

The chosen style is saison. According to the brewery, the team arrived at the style after multiple tastings and discussions. The beer is designed around the light, refreshing character that suits summer, while keeping the subtle acidity typical of Belgian saison traditions.

The tasting notes describe a bright yellow appearance. Aromas evoke lemon, apple, white flowers, and lemongrass, with a fresh acidic nuance underneath. On the palate, sour-malt-derived tartness meets the fruity character of saison yeast, and the finish carries a gentle clove-like spice.

Product details have also been shared: hop variety Elixer, alcohol by volume 6.0%, bitterness IBU 10, and a 350 ml can format. As a food pairing, the brewery suggests a hot sandwich with fairly thick ham.

The label is an original work by Takashi Kurihara, giving the beer a visual identity that matches the collaboration’s emphasis on craft and detail. Built over roughly six months, ALC reflects the common ground between beauty, bartending, and brewing: a focus on refining the essentials rather than chasing excess.
