Minoh Brewery, which has been brewing in Minoh City, Osaka since 1997, is releasing its spring seasonal beer, "Spring Lager." This new brew is crafted as a German-style pilsner, in contrast to its standard "Pilsner," which is a Czech-style Bohemian pilsner.

For this batch, the brewery selected a different German malt than usual, emphasizing crispness and body. The hops are also entirely German, with Hallertau Mittelfrüh used to bring out a noble aroma. Brewed in December and given a thorough low-temperature fermentation and maturation, as explained by the brewery, the beer has a clean, well-balanced finish.

Its specs are 6.0% ABV, 25 IBU, and a pale color. The flavor profile is described as a lively mouthfeel, malt richness, and an elegant hop aroma. It is unfiltered, with a recommended drinking temperature of 7 to 10°C. While offering the crispness expected of a lager, it also delivers a satisfying malt depth.

Minoh Brewery has continued to make beer around classic beer styles while making use of local ingredients and seasonal character. In Minoh, surrounded by the natural beauty of northern Osaka, the brewery has pursued its goal of creating "daily beer" that fits naturally into everyday life, and that spirit carries through to this Spring Lager as well. A side-by-side tasting with the standard Pilsner should make the differences between the two lager styles especially clear.

Sales will begin sequentially from March 10 for food and liquor retailers in 330 ml bottles and on draught. The brewery's directly operated WAREHOUSE store will start selling it on March 10, and the official online shop will begin on March 11. This is a release that makes you want to revisit the classic appeal of lager as spring approaches.
