Kamakura Beer sponsors Kamakura x Nice BLUE FESTA 2026, set for May 30
To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the sister-city partnership between Kamakura City and Nice, France, "BLUE FESTA 2026" will be held on May 30 at the Kamakura City Hall parking lot. In addition to French and Japanese food and a marché, Kamakura Beer Brewing is also listed as a sponsor.
"BLUE FESTA 2026," celebrating the 60th anniversary of the sister-city partnership between Kamakura City and Nice, France, will be held on Saturday, May 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Kamakura City Hall parking lot. Admission is free, and the event will be canceled in the event of rain. At the venue, there will be food trucks and food stalls introducing French culinary culture centered on Nice, a marché inspired by southern France, art experiences, and a children’s area.
The event guide also says original lemon beer and wine are planned for sale. Its location, about a 2-minute walk from Kamakura Station West Exit, makes it easy to stop by while sightseeing or shopping. It looks like it will be a day when the open, seaside feel of a coastal town and the atmosphere of southern France overlap in Kamakura in early summer.
The company sponsoring this event is Kamakura Beer Brewing Co., Ltd. Founded in 1997 and based in Omachi, Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Kamakura Beer has continued brewing local craft beer rooted in the community. Its official website also states its aim of offering time to enjoy food together in the historic city of Kamakura, and its strong compatibility with the local culture and cuisine is well known.
Having a local brewery’s name alongside an event celebrating exchanges between Kamakura and Nice gives the occasion a distinctly local context. For beer lovers, this is an event worth watching as a place to cross over food, art, and a marché while enjoying both Kamakura’s local character and a touch of France.
