Mangosteen Brewing Lab, based in Hokuto, Yamanashi, has brought back WORKINGMANS TRUE FRIEND as a dry-hopped lager. On Instagram, the brewery introduced it as its second release of the week and directed readers to online sales.

The brewery operates inside MANGOSTEEN HOKUTO, a renovated former factory complex. According to the official site, it uses brewing water that includes underground water from Mt. Kayagatake and has equipment capable of producing up to 8,000 liters a month. The site also describes the broader venue as a place where the brewery, bottle shop and taproom, and food counter work together around the same location.

The beer is listed at 5.5% ABV and 23 IBU. On the sales page, it is described as a hoppy lager brewed with Nelson Sauvin from New Zealand and Eclipse from Australia. The brewery says it balances hop-driven juiciness and malt sweetness with a dry, crisp finish.

The name WORKINGMANS TRUE FRIEND reflects the idea of a true companion for working people. Its initials also spell out WTF, adding a playful twist to a straightforward concept. The label follows the same approach, using bold typography and a clean presentation. It is a beer that fits Mangosteen Brewing Lab's experimental stance while staying easy to understand at a glance.
