Omi Beer is a craft beer brewery in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture. Its official website says it is a small brewery with a brewing volume of 100L per batch, and that it makes beer using agricultural products from Shiga Prefecture.

What was introduced on Instagram this time was the limited-brewed Koji Ale Sou -SOU-. The post lists ABV 4.0%, IBU 10, and describes the flavor as "light on the palate, with juicy citrus notes and a bright aroma." You can see a design that keeps the alcohol low while still giving the aroma a strong outline.

Omi Beer also has a standard Koji Ale, which uses white koji in part of the ingredients and is characterized by the umami and acidity of koji, along with citrus hop aroma. This Sou -SOU- can be understood as a limited edition that builds on that lineage while shifting toward a lighter, easier-drinking profile.

The official site also says that Omi Beer brews and sells limited beers such as the "Beer of the Month," making use of the agility that comes with a small facility. As a brewery that readily brings out seasonal character, a lower-ABV, aroma-focused beer like this really shows Omi Beer's strengths.
