GOOD HOPS (Good Hops, Tono City, Iwate Prefecture) announced on Instagram that it will begin serving its new beers, "MURAKAMI SEVEN LAGER" and "MURAKAMI SEVEN IPA," made with the rare hop "MURAKAMI SEVEN," in the taproom starting the following day.
Two beers built around Murakami Seven
Murakami Seven is a new hop variety developed by GOOD HOPS brewmaster Atsushi Murakami during his time at Kirin Brewery. According to GOOD HOPS' official news, the hop is also being cultivated in Tono City, but yields are still limited, making this collaboration a particularly special opportunity.
The LAGER was designed to bring out the character of Murakami Seven, with a fresh green aroma layered with the juiciness of Japanese citrus. Another defining feature is the way its aroma and flavor shift as the temperature changes. The IPA combines Murakami Seven with Tono-grown IBUKI, creating a finish that layers Japanese citrus notes with a soft, fruity sweetness.
An effort to share Tono's hops
As a brewery that continues developing products centered on Tono hops, GOOD HOPS makes beers that highlight the origin and use of each hop. These two beers are not simply new releases; they are structured so drinkers can compare how the same hop variety is expressed in a lager and in an IPA.
As for the sales schedule, the keg versions went on sale at 3:00 p.m. on April 1, and the canned versions are scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on April 8. The point this time is that you can follow the new character of Tono-grown hops in both the taproom and cans.
