Miyazaki Prefecture's Kushima City-based Nagi no Ne Brewing has begun taking preorders for its seasonal limited product, "Nagi no Ne SETOKA2026." The centerpiece this time is fully ripe Setoka from Ishigami Farm in the Toi district of Kushima. Using everything from the peel to the flesh, the brewery deliberately leaves out hops to bring out the aroma and flavor of citrus itself.

The product is a 750 ml happoshu with 7% alcohol. The carbonation is set a little lower, resulting in a smooth, rich mouthfeel. When poured into a glass, it is said to unfold with an aftertaste reminiscent of fruit wine. In addition to Setoka, the ingredients include malt produced in the United Kingdom, glucose, and lemongrass. Shipping is planned for on or after May 1, 2026, and sales are limited to preorders while supplies last.

Nagi no Ne Brewing is a small brewery in Kushima City operated by a former shochu master distiller working alone. Using a site that was once a nursery school, the brewery continues to make sake with a strong emphasis on handcrafting. Its regular offering, "Yamabiko Ale," has highlighted a gentle flavor profile that makes use of lemongrass and bottle-conditioning, but this SETOKA 2026 more clearly expresses the brewery's direction as a beer centered on the citrus of the local area.
