Marumugi is a small beer bar that opened in 2011, located about a three-minute walk from Yotsuya-sanchome Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line. It is on the second floor, tucked down a side street off Sugi Daimon-dori, so it can be a little hard to find, but that makes the satisfaction of reaching "that one beer" all the greater. If you are visiting for the first time, note that the entrance is on the alley side.
The shop has also been closed on Tuesdays and public holidays since December 5, 2024, and will open specially on some holidays during this year's Golden Week. It will be closed on April 29, May 5, and May 6, while it is scheduled to be open on May 3 and May 4. If you plan to stop by during the holiday period, it is a good idea to confirm the business days in advance.
It is a Marumugi-style rotating tap lineup that makes it fun to choose which style to start with today. Start light with a saison or wit, or drink more calmly with a bitter style; the selection makes it easy to choose according to how you want to drink.
