Nomcraft Brewing, based in Aridagawa Town, Aridagawa District, Wakayama Prefecture, introduced Momonga Bongos, brewed in collaboration with Canal Brewing. The style is Hazy Pale Ale, ALC. 5.5%, IBU 30. The hop bill uses Talus, Idaho 7, El Dorado, and Galaxy, aiming for a profile that layers tropical, citrus, and stone-fruit notes.
According to brewer Adam's description, it was crafted to keep sweetness in check while delivering a soft mouthfeel and a crisp finish, making it a beer that is easy to drink without tiring the palate. Suggested pairings include tacos, ceviche, and key lime pie, making it easy to enjoy the hop juiciness alongside food.
The post also reveals that Momonga Bongos had been a candidate name for some time, but was finally adopted this time. Including the backstory behind the name, this release shows the brewery's playful spirit.
Nomcraft Brewing launched in 2019 after renovating an old daycare center in Aridagawa Town, and has continued brewing with a focus on balancing hop-forward American styles with drinkability. This collaboration also clearly reflects that direction.
