Sunday, April 19: "Guest Chef Day"
Nutori Brewing in Kawaguchi, Saitama Prefecture, will hold a Guest Chef Day on Sunday, April 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This initiative, which began in March, is a day to welcome guest chefs with close ties to Nutori, enjoy their food, and raise a glass of the brewery's house-made beer. This time, Kenichi Sekine, known as "Kenken" and active in Fujimi City, will be featured.
Sekine became friendly with the Yamadas of Nutori through the FUJIMI CRAFT BEER FESTA, and has also been involved in projects such as "Fujimi Saimai," made with rice produced in Fujimi City, and "Nuto-ko," created in collaboration with a welfare facility. For this event, he plans to bring agricultural products from Fujimi City as well as the popular "Hormone Masala" from previous events.
The beer lineup is also worth noting. From Nutori's side, the brewery will serve its secret-stash "Fujimi Saimai" lager on a beer engine, and will also debut a new "Fujimi Saimai Saison." In addition, rice balls made with rice from Fujimi City, which was also used in the brewing process, will be available.
Nutori Brewing is a brewery that has continued to create a space combining brewing and food in the west exit area of Kawaguchi Station. True to the philosophy behind its name, "Shinyo Joen," it is characterized by a style that connects people and the local community through beer and meals, and this Guest Chef Day can be seen as an extension of that approach. It looks set to be a day in Kawaguchi where visitors can enjoy beer and food born from ties to Fujimi City together.
