MANGOSTEEN BREWING LAB shares a nine-beer canned lineup
MANGOSTEEN BREWING LAB, based in Hokuto, Yamanashi, posted an Instagram update introducing its current canned-beer lineup. The post also noted the taproom hours as `OPEN 11:00-20:00` and said the brewery will be open on the holiday Monday, July 20.
The brewery operates inside MANGOSTEEN HOKUTO, a complex built from a renovated former factory. The site brings together a brewery, bottle shop, taproom, and food space, and the beers regularly reflect local produce from the Hokuto area. That local focus was clear in this latest post, which highlighted nine different labels.
- HOTARU: A farmhouse ale brewed with Yamanashi plums and bai makrut leaves.
- SUN FLOWERS: A support beer for the local Sunflower Festival, made as a jasmine tea beer.
- OPTICAL TOMATO: A dry-hopped sour brewed with 500 kg of tomatoes from local farmer Agrimind.
- WORKINGMANS TRUE FRIEND: A new batch of the brewery's popular lager, described as even drier and easier to finish.
- NEW COLONY: The brewery's flagship beer, with yeast-driven fruity and clove-like notes.
- DAIKON FARMHOUSE ALE: Brewed with Asao daikon, one of Hokuto's signature local ingredients.
- RINGO FARMHOUSE ALE: Made with Fuji apples from Gomi Ringoen, part of the brewery's Akeno trilogy.
- YAKI-IMO ALE: Brewed with sweet potatoes that were roasted and turned into a puree before being added to the beer.
- SUN SONG: A pale ale combining organic summer mandarin, green chili, chile ancho, and jalapeño.
The lineup shows how MANGOSTEEN turns Hokuto's seasonal produce into a broad range of beers, from lager and sour styles to farmhouse ales. It is a snapshot of a brewery that keeps local ingredients at the center of its brewing identity.
