Setouchi Brewery, based in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, has released "HOP HOPPING ROOM002" on its official store as the second installment in its new "HOP HOPPING" series, which focuses on the character of hops.

The style of this release is West Coast IPA, with an ABV of 6.5%. Chinook (チヌーク) is used as the key hop, and the tasting description highlights a sharp bitterness, grapefruit-like citrus notes, and a trailing pine resin character. The price is 890 yen, tax included.

The concept of the series is to focus on a single hop and make its individuality the star. ROOM001 used Elani®, emphasizing the balance between tropical aroma and bitterness, while ROOM002 is built to evoke a more classical hop profile.

The brewing notes say the beer incorporates a special method for extracting the hop's aromatic compounds, and that different Chinook production methods were combined to create a well-balanced finish. The series design, which changes how hops are presented from one release to the next, is a point worth watching not only for the beer itself but also for how its flavor is constructed.

As a brewery in Takamatsu surrounded by the natural beauty of the Seto Inland Sea, Setouchi Brewery handles everything in-house, from planning and brewing to shipping. True to its roots as a local brewery, this new release is positioned as a work that carefully connects the atmosphere of the region with the individuality of the hops.
