Hansharo Beer Brewing Releases Limited Saison 'Seseragi Mojito Ale'
Hansharo Beer Brewing has introduced a limited beer called Seseragi Mojito Ale, a saison brewed with mint grown in Mishima, Shizuoka. Created in collaboration with Luca Wine, it is designed as a refreshing beer for the summer season.
Hansharo Beer Brewing, based in Izunokuni, Shizuoka, has released a limited beer called Seseragi Mojito Ale. The beer is a saison with 5.0% ABV and 12 IBU. It is available only in keg formats of 10L and 15L, with no bottle release.
The beer was developed as a collaboration with Luca Wine, a wine shop in Mishima, Shizuoka. Using apple mint and spearmint grown in Mishima, the brewery added the herbs in two stages during the boil and at the end of fermentation. The goal was to create a beer inspired by a mojito, with a bright, refreshing profile. The hop bill includes Citra, Loral, Motueka, and Simcoe, bringing lemon- and lime-like citrus notes to support the herbal mint character and the expressive aroma of saison yeast.
According to the tasting notes, the beer pours a bright lemon yellow. Its aroma combines a clean green freshness with citrus nuances, and the flavor opens with minty brightness and fruitiness carrying a gentle acidity. Bitterness is restrained, leaving a crisp, refreshing finish.
Hansharo Beer Brewing is a microbrewery in the Izu-Nirayama area, founded by Kuraya Narusawa in 1997. The brewery has long focused on seasonal limited releases that reflect local ingredients and the character of the region. This release continues that approach by pairing locally grown mint with a light, summer-ready drinking profile.
