Onomichi Brewery is bringing back its summer-friendly session IPA, Setoda Lime IPA. With a lower alcohol content and restrained bitterness, it keeps the outline of an IPA while staying easy to drink in hot weather.

The beer’s key ingredient is lime from Takanejima, an island connected to Setoda on Ikuchijima by a lemon-colored bridge. That citrus character ties the beer closely to the Setouchi landscape. For this batch, the recipe was revised and New Zealand's Motueka was chosen as the main hop. The hop is known for its lime-like aroma, and the combination appears to push the fruitiness even further forward.

Onomichi Brewery operates out of a renovated old storehouse in Kubo, Onomichi, and is run by a husband-and-wife team. The brewery has long focused on beers that feel rooted in the city and in the local landscape, aiming for a clean, refreshing finish that makes you want another sip. This release fits that approach well: a regional ingredient-led IPA, now available both on tap and through the brewery's online shop.
