Two new beers tapped at a beer pub in Meguro

The beer pub "Craft Beer & Wine THE DODO HOUSE" in Meguro, Tokyo, released its tap list for May 16. Newly connected were two beers: Good Hops' "Do Good" and Utotten Brewing's "Black Box." The owner noted, "We're going with dark beer," positioning them as the day's highlights.

The two newly tapped beers

- Good Hops / "Do Good" [Iwate]
- Utotten Brewing / "Black Box" [Nagano]

"Do Good" is an IPA made with 100% Tono-grown hops. According to the shop's description, it is an anniversary beer from a brewery born in Tono in 2025, using only hops grown in Tono. It is introduced as featuring clean citrus aromas, fruitiness, and a gentle bitterness.

Meanwhile, "Black Box" is a Baltic porter. It is described as having aromas of chocolate, coffee, and dark cherry, along with the smoothness and full-bodied character that come from low-temperature fermentation and maturation. It was presented as a high-alcohol dark beer intentionally offered for the upcoming season.

Tap list for the day

- Nara Brewing / "Spiral" [Nara]
- Johana Beer / "Great Blue" [Toyama]
- Shiga Kogen Beer / "DPA (Draft Pale Ale)" [Nagano]
- Kankiku Brewery / "Kankiku Helles" [Chiba]
- Paint Palette Brewing / "Mixed Media" [Hyogo]

The lineup spans everything from a light pale ale to helles and a dark Baltic porter, making it an easy set to pair with food and keep drinking through. THE DODO HOUSE also says there is no charge when using the bench seating, and it offers drinks in takeout plastic cups, making it easy to stop by casually and enjoy just one drink.

Hours for the day are 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. In addition, during May only, it is operating with two regular closing days per week, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
