"Jibīru Bar Marumugi" in Arakicho, Shinjuku Ward, announced its craft beer lineup for April 3. True to the charm of a small beer bar, the face of the draft beer changes every day, and five labels are on tap today. Prices are Large 1,200 yen + α / Small 900 yen + α.+

This lineup features Decorian, which layers citrus nuances over a dark body; MUGICHA BITTER, centered on a roasted aroma; Pale Ale, whose strengths are richness and toastiness; Favorite IPA, where you can enjoy a firm bitterness; and Apple Hop Kogyoku Ver., which stands out for the tartness of Kogyoku apples. The styles span a wide range, making it easy to choose according to your mood, from a light drink to a full-bodied IPA and a fruit beer.

What stands out is that the beers each have a clearly defined flavor direction. Decorian is described as a distinctive dark beer in the style of Y.MARKET BREWING; MUGICHA BITTER as a gentle bitter beer from Minoh Beer; and Favorite IPA as a hop-forward beer from Ushitora Brewery. Moji Port Retro Beer's Pale Ale offers classic, easy drinkability, while Minami Shinshu Beer's Apple Hop Kogyoku Ver. should deliver the refreshing character of apples.

Marumugi is a beer pub on the 2nd floor of Ichibankan Building in Arakicho, Shinjuku. As a neighborhood spot that's easy to drop by after work, part of the fun is following the rotating draft selection. Today, the lineup lets you compare the hallmark traits of craft beer in a straightforward way: toastiness, bitterness, and fruitiness.
