Mangosteen Brewing, a craft brewery based in Hokuto, Yamanashi, will hold a pop-up at reload, a commercial complex in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo. The event is scheduled for September 25–27, 2026, in the central area of the facility’s first floor.
The brewery is part of MANGOSTEEN HOKUTO, a compound in Akeno, Hokuto, surrounded by rural scenery and views of the Southern Alps, Mount Kaikoma, and Mount Yatsugatake. The site brings together Mangosteen Brewing, the specialty bottle shop and taproom Mangosteen Liquors, and Mangosteen Bao, a dumpling restaurant.
Mangosteen Brewing has developed beers that reflect local ingredients and the character of the area. Past releases include HOTARU, a farmhouse ale made with a large amount of Yamanashi plums and bai makrut; SUN FLOWERS, a jasmine tea beer created in connection with Akeno’s sunflower festival; and OPTICAL TOMATO, a dry-hopped sour brewed with tomatoes from a local Akeno farm. The brewery’s lineup has also included its flagship NEW COLONY and WORKINGMANS TRUE FRIEND, a dry and crisp dry-hopped lager.
At the Shimokitazawa pop-up, visitors will be able to encounter beers from Hokuto in a Tokyo setting, along with the wider Mangosteen concept of showcasing unusual drinks shaped by microorganisms around the world. Further details on the products and service menu are expected through the brewery’s official Instagram.
