Nito Brewing (Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture) has started selling its new craft beer, "HOPZILLA: MEGA MOTUEKA," through its online shop. The price is 715 yen for a 360 ml can and 4,290 yen for a six-pack.

This release is the fourth installment in the HOPZILLA series, which explores the possibilities of single-hop brewing. The star ingredient is "MEGA MOTUEKA" from New Zealand. In the official description, it is introduced as a beer that fully brings out citrus notes reminiscent of lime and aromas evoking the tropics. While the bitterness is clearly present, the lower alcohol content keeps it refreshingly light on the palate. Its defining feature is an XPA-style drinkability with a strong hop character.

Nito Brewing is a brewery that actively incorporates hops from Australia and New Zealand while aiming to balance drinkability and flavor. The name "Nito Brewing" comes from the Japanese proverb "If you chase two rabbits, you catch neither," and it carries the meaning of focusing on one thing and devoting oneself to it. The brewery is located near Hachiman-bori, about a 10-minute drive from Lake Biwa, and continues to make beers rooted in the local area.

This "MEGA MOTUEKA" is another new release that clearly reflects the brewery's character. As an XPA that foregrounds hop aroma while keeping the balance from becoming too heavy, it is a beer that is easy to enjoy from early in the season.
