Nutori Brewing releases "Akahana" in cans first

Nutori Brewing, based in Kawaguchi, Saitama, has launched a new canned beer called Akahana. The beer is a red ale, and the brewery describes it as having a bright aroma and a slow, easy-drinking character.

Nutori Brewing operates a small-scale brewery with a direct-run shop in Kawaguchi. According to the brewery's official website, it uses local Kawaguchi water and produces a range of house beers in a compact tank setup. The shop also offers beer filling for cans, making this release a natural fit for its canned-beer lineup.

In the Instagram post, Nutori says draft service will come later. For now, the canned version is being introduced first, and the brewery suggests it pairs well with meat dishes and other foods with a stronger flavor profile.

As a beer style, red ale is often appreciated for its malt-driven aroma, rounded body, and balanced drinkability. Akahana appears to lean into that profile, offering a food-friendly option from a brewery that places beer and meals side by side. For fans of Japanese craft beer, it is a straightforward but appealing new release to watch.
