Better life with upcycle will open its brewery in Ebina City, Kanagawa Prefecture, on Saturday, May 31. Known for its unique approach of brewing with bread crusts as a substitute for part of the malt, the brewery will host an event that opens up a normally hard-to-see brewing site to the public.

On the day, brewery staff will continue working while welcoming visitors, who can freely tour the facility. No reservation is required, and admission is free. The appeal is that you can drop by casually and peek into the place where beer is made.

At the venue, paid tastings will be available, along with canned beer and the rusk that has proven popular at past events. Bringing your own food is allowed, but anything that uses fire is not permitted. Payments are cashless only.

The brewery has its roots in a bakery with more than 100 years of history, and from a food-loss perspective has given new value to bread crusts. For beer lovers, this is an event worth watching, offering a chance to see firsthand both the thinking and the craftsmanship at a brewery in Ebina.
